The story behind Payte on the Road
Payte on the Road is officially launched! Let me introduce you to the blog and where it all started!
This adventure all started maybe three years ago when the idea to start a blog crossed my mind. I’ve always been passionate about everything related to travel and I wanted to share some of my knowledge and tell stories about where I went.
Three years ago I started my first blog A Flight Away which doesn’t exist anymore and didn’t last very long. The reason why? My life was too busy and I couldn’t find the time to work on it but also because I didn’t have all the information I have today to help me grow this project properly.
For the past year, well actually on my last big trip to Scotland, the spark to start a blog came back. So since October 2019, I was learning as much as I could about blogging and trying to figure out the design of my dream website. When COVID hit Canada in March, and everything stopped, even though I was still working from home, suddenly I had a lot more time to start working on my project. So I used this opportunity to finally elaborate on my website.
My plan was to be able to launch Payte on the Road by the end of this summer. So today, I am happy to introduce you to Payte on the Road!
Who is behind Payte on the Road?
Well, my name is Patricia A.K.A. Payte. I am originally from British Columbia but I live in Quebec now. As a former flight attendant for seven years, traveling has always been a part of my life. Travel is a passion of mine and I love to organize and plan trips. I am an adventure seeker and love to experience new places, cultures, food, and different ways of life.
As of now, I am working full-time in an administration office. Not in the same area of expertise I know, but I have to pay the bills somehow! Hopefully, someday, life can be more about traveling and adventures and less about working in an office!
I am a mother of two young kids. My son is six and my daughter is two. I decided to embark on this blogging journey to share my adventures wherever they are around the world, and to inspire you to live the life of your dreams and be happy with the life you are living! Even though I do not travel full time, I am hoping to inspire you to live your life to the fullest and make the most of everywhere you go!
One of my biggest dreams, would be to road trip the world with my husband and two kids and take you along with me through photography and stories on the blog.
I think traveling doesn’t just mean taking a trip abroad. Taking a weekend trip one hour away from home is also a vacation because you are probably visiting or doing something new. Everything you do can become an adventure!
With COVID this year, travel has been pretty much canceled so far for us. My plans to travel abroad this year are close to none. So I had to rethink my traveling perspective and adjust to our new normal.
So this summer, our travel plans were right here in our own backyard. I can say, I have discovered some amazing places right here close to my home that I never even knew existed. If it wasn’t for COVID, I would’ve never even known about them. So sometimes, it’s great to travel within your own country to know more about your own home.
What is Payte on the Road about?
Payte on the Road is a family-friendly travel blog. On the blog, you can learn more about me, find many travel tips on multiple destinations, and get some travel updates from me. All my destination guides are all places I have traveled to. You can also find all the information for collaborations. Once in a while, I will post some family travel tips and tricks.
My blog posts are categorized into three different categories: Travel, Road trip, and Packing guides. In my travel section, you will learn everything related to travel such as destination guides, photos to inspire you to visit some great places, things I never travel without, and so on. In this section, you will basically find everything you need to plan your next vacation.
In my road trip section, you will find road tripping travel inspiration such as road trip essentials, road trip itineraries, what I loved on a road trip… Anything related to planning a great road trip will be found in my road trip section.
Lastly, my packing guides section is all about helping you pack. Whether you are packing for camping, sunny destinations, Europe… Your bags won’t be missing anything!
If you are looking for some family travel inspiration, you will find them either in travel or road trips depending on what the blog post is about.
