You decided to book yourself a nice little getaway somewhere warm where you will be enjoying the beach? But now you have no clue what you have to be packing for your sunny destination getaway? I’ve got you covered!
Whether you are traveling somewhere warm like the Caribbean or just planning a summer getaway, you always need a couple of essential things to bring along. These are my go-to items when comes time to pack for the beach where I know it will be warm and sunny all week! With this list, you are sure that you won’t forget to pack anything for your sunny getaway!

Sunny destination essentials

If you are traveling within your own country, those are items you won’t necessarily need. However, if you are crossing borders, you will absolutely need your passport. Depending on where you are going, a travel visa might be required. Make sure to check the country’s criteria before leaving!
If you have your scuba diving certification and you are planning to do some scuba diving activities, don’t forget your card! Also, verify that the country you are going to has the same electrical outlets as you. If not, you will need to bring an adapter to plug your stuff. I always bring a pen, or five, with me. This is the former flight attendant in me speaking! Most of the time, you have some forms to fill out for customs at arrival. Flight attendants don’t carry extra pens so make sure to have your own!

Going to the Caribbean, I tend to overpack. Since my clothes only take a small space in my suitcase, I don’t do any laundry at the hotel. I usually have bikinis for every single day and clothes as well. Most of the time, I come back home with clothes that I didn’t even take out of the suitcase. Well, at least I had choices!

I always bring a couple of things I won’t find there. I carry a little travel-size bottle of shampoo and conditionner because I personally don’t like using the hotel ones. I bring along a little packet of laundry detergent with me on every trip. Even though I don’t do laundry on trips like these, if I have a spill on my clothes, I at least have some soap to prevent it from staining.
One thing I also love to carry with me is a dirty laundry bag. That way, I don’t mix my clean clothes with dirty ones. Sometimes, I also bring some detangler. Especially going to the beach, it can get windy and my hair tends to get crazy! If you are bringing kids with you, detangler is definitely a must item!

I like to carry a small first aid kit with me in case I need it. That way, I don’t have to go looking for a pharmacy if need be.
